U9/U10 Academy

Program Overview

A new travel program for U9/U10 players beginning Fall 2015 - THE PROGRAM IS NOW FULL FOR THE FALL SEASON

"True player development focuses on the development of the player, not the development of the team! Up to age 12, this should be the only criteria used in designing and running youth soccer programs."

Ron Quinn, US Youth Soccer

Program Description: A program for U9/U10 (birthdates 8/01/05 - 7/31/07) players who wish to commit more time to soccer training on a year round basis. The program is pool based rather than team based with the main focus on individual player development. The players will be together August 2015 through July 2016 with 8 weeks of rest time scheduled.

Program Emphasis:  Player Development through increased number of training sessions each week on a year round basis. Weekend games and festivals, no overload on tournament play, more focus on individual player development.  The goal of the program is to develop a large pool of quality players in these younger age-groups which will in turn produce highly competitive teams in the older age-groups.

Training/Game ratio: Approx. 3 training sessions to every game played over the course of the program

No Try-Outs: Player Evaluation will be over the course of the year rather than one night. The MYSA Academy program allows for roster changes for all games and festivals so there is a lot of flexibility.

Commitment Fee: $100 commitment fee per player due by July 1. Waiting list now in operation (also $100 commitment fee).

Online registration is open at blainesoccer.org. Deadline to register is July 1st 2015.

Coaches: Head Coaches will be supported year round by club trainers and the Academy Director(s).

MYSA Academy Clubs: Blaine, Blackhawks, Kelix, Prior Lake, Sporting St Croix, Valley United, Woodbury

Commitment – This is a year round soccer program with an all-inclusive cost so we expect players to make every effort to attend as many scheduled events as possible. Multi-Sport athletes are also welcome and encouraged to participate as BSC understands the value of young athletes playing different sports.

What’s included?

  • Winter Indoor Turf/Field time – 2 one hour training sessions per week over the winter
  • Professional trainers at least once  per week over the winter and during the summer season
  • Training sessions with head coaches
  • MYSA Academy Showcases
  • MYSA Academy Games: Fall-8 Games (Sat/Sun), Winter-3 Festivals, Summer- 8 games (Sat/Sun). Provisional schedule available on ‘Academy Page’ of club website
  • 2 BSC Club Tournaments  (Blaine Break-Out and North American Challenge)
  • BSC Club Fees, MYSA Fees, Referee/Field Fees
  • Academy Training Kit

Inclusive cost: $100 commitment fee (due by July 1st) plus $1200 per player (4x $300 payments due Aug 1, Oct 1, Jan 1, and March 1). This price is very competitive and very similar to a regular travel teams true cost once they have included all team fees for indoor field rentals/leagues etc. The fee is an all-inclusive amount for the entire soccer year.

The Registration "U10 Academy - F15/S16" is not currently available.
