This June started off with a bang as teams from all around Minnesota participated in Futbol Frenzy. Powered by Lakes United and GPS, this jamboree offered players the chance to spend the whole day playing soccer. Teams played up to 4 games during the day with a lunch break and water war in between.
Teams participating in the competition included Lakes United, Sartell, East Select, Cloquet, Hermantown, Blaine Soccer Club, and BSC’s U8 Development Academy -- teams not usually faced in league.
The main event of the day was the water war. After a hot set of matches, players and coaches of all teams cooled off by dousing each other with water guns and running on the slip-n-slide.
After a long day of soccer, the Blaine 2004 Girls Travel 2 and 2007 Boys Travel 1 teams carried out an impressive set of performances that ended with winners’ medals.
