BSC Members,

I hope you are all taking care of your families, yourselves and each other. As we settle into another week of unchartered territory, uncertainty, and change, we’re continuing to assess how COVID-19 impacts our club. We have sincere gratitude for all the hard work our staff has done to provide you with the best possible experience for you to continue to practice soccer, albeit not out on the field as we’d prefer.

Currently our return-to-play date is May 1st, as aligned with the Governor's mandates as well as US Club Soccer mandates. However, with so much of the trajectory of the pandemic still unknown, our return-to-play date may continue to shift further and further into the summer. This decision was not made lightly and was made in consideration of financial impacts, cancelation of payments, potential refunds for missed soccer, while still keeping the player at the center of our decisions.

It is through many difficult conversations and the trajectory of the pandemic still unknown we have made the decision to furlough most of our coaches until further notice. Over the next few weeks we will continue to access the situation and if the outlook of the pandemic’s trajectory is positive, we have every intention of rapidly rehiring coaches and staff so that players and families can best enjoy the summer soccer season back out on the field. Additionally, we are applying for funds through the Payroll Protection Program that will further support our club and coaches in the short term. However, it is not clear if or when we would be eligible to receive assistance.

In the near future, we will be putting together a new communication plan to stay connected with players and families as well as continue at-home training. So please be on the lookout for more information.

Over the past several years, we’ve invested in improved coaching and more playing time and it is our mission to continue to make lives better though soccer, and pursue excellence in our programming. The difficult actions we are taking now will better position the Club to support and fund our next chapter so that you, our members, continue to receive high quality soccer opportunities. This is a challenging time for all of us but we’re confident that with your continued support, we will persevere.
