BSC Members,

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time.

On Thursday, Governor Walz announced that schools will remain closed for the rest of the school year. As such MYSA and TCSL are aligning with the state and suspending games until June 1st.

CORRECTION FROM OUR NEWSLETTER: US Club Soccer has suspended play nation-wide until May 18th. We are exploring the possibility of running modified training sessions after the 18th. We will be sure to announce any updates in the weeks to come.

While we continue to learn more everyday, the situation around COVID-19 remains fluid. As a club, we are preparing for several scenarios for the summer for all our programs.

Player safety is our chief concern and we’ve been in contact with both leagues to discuss what guidance and protocols they are putting in place for return to play (no handshakes, social distanced sidelines, etc). Additionally, we are adjusting and reimagining our own policies to minimize risk to parents, coaches, and players for training, camps, and clinics.

Until we return to the field, coaches will be running two weekly conference calls to support players. These will be a combination of ball mastery exercises, speed and strength drills, and team building activities. This is obviously not a substitute for being out on the field, but we hope that it can have a positive weekly impact for players and families during this unprecedented time.

This is not the season that anyone expected, but what we have appreciated is the positivity and resiliency of our BSC members, families, coaches, and players alike. We will get through this and we will get back to playing. Until then, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Best,

BSC Board of Directors and Executive Director
